Future Classic Cars - What's yours?
I would go with the Citroen XM. Although as they stopped making them about 15 years ago they are already hovering around the classic mark.

Probably the last of the big, pneumatic suspension Citroens which, if you've never experienced it, is quite amazing. Even now there's not many knocking about. If you ever get to drive one, take it, the experience is unique, especially on twisty country roads!

Fuck me, look at the state of that CX and bang, straight in with an opening £4k bid.

Think the XM needs to happen, the 3.0 must be like hen's teeth so thinking of hens, buy one and chuck it in a barn for 20 years.

Few 2.0 Xm's but suspect the 3.0 v6's are now more scarce.

I am lucky to possess a 1996 SL320 6 pot which i have had for 15 years and have managed to keep in immaculate condition. Hoping one day it might just be a classic. A lovely car to drive if not quick.

A good modernish car which isnt too expensive and I think will rise is the BMW Z3M coupe. You'll need to give it a few years though.

One of my mates had a Pantera GTS - should have been renamed as LOTUS as it cost him fortunes to keep it going

My Grandad had a 740 in the 80's, always said it's the best car he ever had.

Back in my Top Trumps days, my favourite care was the De Tomaso Pantera. Not sure if I've ever actually seen one in real life?

For classic value in the 740 range, you should probably try and get hold of a Volvo 780 Bertone Coupé

Ball bag - he did an inspection of a Boxster I was selling.

Tore it apart, the git.

In all honesty, an expert inspection will only usually find the things that are pointed out on specialist forums for anyone to find if they can be bothered to jack a car up and have a look under it.

Thanks for that - my mate paid £50k for a 1997 Targa with 30k miles on it 4 years ago, and I have seen what they are worth - Let's see what occurs this weekend

Re: Future Classic Cars - What's yours?
well if it turns out to be honest, make sure you grab it and update this thread.

Funny thing is that even if it is a bargain, you still go through the charade of trying not to look too interested - when all you really want to do is pay and drive off asap.

There's a guy who will do an exhaustive check of any 911 you're looking to buy, think it's £400 but probably worth it. Peter Morgan Consulting, check him out on google. I'm no expert but seriously 12k is about a 1/3 of the price I've been looking at for the last year or so...

Unless its owner by its original owner who has lived in a cave for the last 10 years then i would fully expect to be some sort of scam.

Is it being sold by trader with all 'his' cars parked behind lock-up garages on an estate somewhere in Birmingham?

Re: Future Classic Cars - What's yours?
I'm looking at a 993 Cab hopefully this weekend, although it seems too good to be true for the price of £12k with fsh when they are all £25k+ - gotta be something wrong with it!!!
